The world is complex, connected, and digital. But also fragmented, polarised, and distracted.

How are you navigating that?

I’m Emma Seery, a communications strategist working at the intersection of meaning, culture, and systems change. In a world shaped increasingly by algorithms, attention economies, and accelerating complexity, my work is about more than reach or engagement. I design and lead communications that weave strategy and story into coherence, shaping culture, deepening connection, and helping organisations seed new futures.

My approach is rooted in systems thinking, Integral perspectives, and embodied practice. I see communications as both a cultural force and a relational act: a way to align message, medium, and meaning so that organisations and communities can navigate complexity with clarity and integrity.

Raised in an international community with peers from over 50 countries, I was immersed early in diverse worldviews, deepening my interest in meaning, identity, and cultural narratives. Over the past year, I have been travelling to gain practical, hands-on experience in permaculture and regenerative growing, while also living in a spiritual intentional community, practicing unity consciousness, yoga, and meditation.

I am currently working as a contracted content consultant and digital strategy adviser for Integral Life and Institute of Applied Metatheory. Previously, I led digital strategy for the National Trust and Ashden, where I delivered measurable growth. My writing has been published in The Ecologist, Reader’s Digest, Urban List, and On the Land. I’m also the editor of Harvests, the member magazine of Biodynamics New Zealand.
